WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis team enjoyed a solid weekend of play at the Tribe Invitational, which was hosted this weekend by the College of William & Mary.

Penn players won two of the singles brackets, as freshman Esha Velaga took first place in the Green bracket and junior Eileen Wang was first in the Silver bracket. Freshman Liza Tkachenko won her first-round match in the Grey bracket while classmate Sasha Motlagh won her first match in the Silver bracket. Saige Roshkoff went 2-1 in the Gold bracket, while Iris Gallo was 2-1 in the Black bracket.
 
In doubles, Penn teams advanced to the final in the Colonial bracket as Wang and Velaga were slated to meet Gallo and Maya Urata. The match was abandoned. Smith and Tkachenko advanced to the final in the Tribe bracket, losing to a team from host W&M, while Roshkoff and Motlagh fell in the semifinal of the Griffin bracket.
 
The Quakers are back at home next weekend, hosting the Cissie Leary Invitational from Friday to Sunday.
