New Season, New Team
When Penn trots out onto the field to face Chestnut Hill on Friday night, there will be several new faces heading into the 2023 campaign. Gone are
Andrew Paolini under center, leading rusher
Levi Gans and leading receiver
Brandon Graves. New players will look to step up in those roles this year. On the defensive side, familiar names like
Jake Inserra and
Charles Tauckus return. Those two combined for 106 of the Quakers' 389 tackles last season.
Â
Cam Janock is back after securing seven TFLs a season ago, while
Adrian Montemayor looks to make impacts on special teams, defense
and offense this time around. He was named CSFL Special Teams Player of the Year last season.
Â
All-CSFL
Eight All-CSFL selections from a year ago return to the program in 2023, including second teamers
Jake Wang, Janock and Inserra. Honorable-mention honorees
Alex Schrier,
Matt McKillop,
Jordan Ortiz, Tauckus and Montemayor are also featured on the roster again.

Knowing The Opponent
Chestnut Hill finished the 2022 season winless, going 0-7. The Quakers will play the Griffins twice this year, starting out on the road Friday before playing CHC at Franklin Field on Oct. 28. Penn is 5-1 all time against Chestnut Hill, winning the last three matchups. The Red and Blue took care of business at home last season, edging them, 9-6.
