NEW YORK, N.Y. – For the second time in three days, the University of Pennsylvania men's tennis team's Ivy League match went down to a winner-take-all contest with the score tied 3-3. After taking Friday's match against #30 Cornell, the Quakers fell to #11 Columbia, ending their winning streak at five.
As they did Friday, the Quakers took the doubles point courtesy of wins at No. 1 and No. 2 from
Edoardo Graziani/
Kevin Zhu and
Zachery Lim/
Harsh Parikh, respectively.
Aditya Gupta picked up a straight-set win at No. 3, as did
Manfredi Graziani at No. 5, but Columbia picked up straight-set wins at No. 1, No. 4, and No. 6, with the match coming down to the lone three-set affair of the day at No. 2.
Kevin Zhu went to a tiebreak in the third (as did Parikh in Friday's clincher), but Columbia ultimately came away with the point and the match.
