Men's Tennis Sets Sights On Princeton (Sat.), Delaware (Sun.)

PRINCETON, N.J. – The University of Pennsylvania, #60 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings, kicks off Ivy League play Saturday with a road match at #46 Princeton before welcoming Delaware to University City on Sunday.

Previewing Penn
Penn picked up a dramatic 4-3 victory over Temple on Wednesday at Hamlin Tennis Center, ending Temple's NCAA-leading 16-match winning streak while extending their home match winning streak to 20 in a row.
 
Edoardo Graziani moved to 7-5 at No. 1 singles with a three-set win. Harsh Parikh moved to 3-0 at the No. 3 spot with a dominating straight-set victory. Manfredi Graziani moved to 10-2 in singles play and 3-0 at the No. 4 spot, breaking a 3-all tie for the match's deciding point.
 
Previewing Princeton
The Tigers are 12-9 this Spring, including a 7-2 mark at home. The Orange and Black knocked off Charlotte (7-0) and Delaware (6-1) in their most recent action last Saturday.
 
As a team, the Tigers have won 65.2 percent of their singles matches (73-39). Fnu Nidunjianzan is 13-7 at No 1 and Thomas Bosancic is 10-6, with a 5-1 mark at the No. 2 spot. Sebastian Sec is 12-5, going 6-2 at the No. 3 position and 5-2 at No. 4. Ellis Short is 15-3, including a 10-2 record playing out of the No. 5 spot.
 
Singles success has not quite carried over to doubles play, with the team winning just 52.2 percent of such matches (24-22), though Sec and Alan Kam are 5-1 between the No. 2 and No. 3 spots.
 
Previewing Delaware
The Blue Hens are 11-6 this Spring, but enter the weekend on a four-match losing streak and just 1-5 in their last six matches. Additionally, all six of their losses this season have come on the road.
 
Delaware and Penn share four common opponents this Spring: Navy, Penn, State, William & Mary, and Temple. Penn is 4-0 in those matches; Delaware is 2-2. The Quakers beat Navy 7-0, Penn State 4-2, William & Mary 7-0, and Temple 4-3; Delaware beat Navy 7-0, lost to Penn State 6-1, beat William & Mary 4-3, and lost to Temple 4-3.
