*Four of the five losses came to nationally-ranked opponents: Rutgers (15-8), Johns Hopkins (13-4), Loyola (15-10), Maryland (13-4).

*On Tuesday against the Big Green, Erin Bakes and Kylie Hazen led the Hoyas with a combined nine points. Bakes had three goals and two assists, while Hazen added two of each.

QUAKER NOTES
*A typical Penn lacrosse schedule, the team is lined up for a competitive 2023 campaign that includes seven top-25 opponents according to the IWLCA preseason ranking. They have already battled then-No. 16 Johns Hopkins, then-No. 8, and then-No. 22 Jacksonville. The season still has No. 8 Florida on the road, while hosting No. 10 Maryland, No. 14 Yale, and No. 17 Princeton.

*Penn returned nine of its top 10 scorers from last season, six of whom had 20-plus points led by Miles with 34 (15 goals, 19 assists).

*The freshman presence is already being felt on the team, as freshman Patricia Columbia-Walsh has 15 points through seven games. Her first collegiate game against La Salle saw her score twice with three assists, and she has contributed points in every game up to this past Wednesday's game against No. 10 Maryland.

*Miles leads the squad with 23 points including 19 goals so far this year.

*A stout defensive third for the Quakers is ranked in several categories in the nation. Penn ranks 29th in caused turnovers per game (9.50), second in ground balls per game (21.33), and 27th in scoring defense (10.00 goals allowed).

*Head coach Karin Corbett is in her 24th season at the helm, owning 244 of the program's 397 wins.
