SERIES AGAINST JACKSONVILLE
*The Quakers are meeting the Dolphins for the first time in program history.

*This will mark the first time Penn has played any opponent from the state of Florida.

ABOUT THE DOLPHINS
*Jacksonville enters the game with a 3-3 record and riding a three-game win streak.

*After opening the season with three straight losses to Michigan (14-10), Rutgers (9-7), and Army (12-10), all of which are nationally ranked talent, they rattled off three wins against No. 18 Stanford (12-10), Arizona State (10-9), and most recently UMass Lowell (16-4).

*All six of their games have been at Rock Stadium, while the matchup with Penn on Saturday wraps up a seven-game homestand.

*Sarah Elms has been a scoring force for the Dolphins this season, leading the team with 25 points on 22 goals and three assists. She currently ranks 13th in the country in goals, and 39th in points.

PENN'S LAST TIME OUT
*This past Saturday, Penn used an 11-2 second half to cruise past Columbia, 17-7, for a 1-0 start in Ivy League play.

*The Quakers were led by senior Kennon Moon's tied career-high four goals.

*Nine different players scored in the game including senior Caitlin Cook with a pair of goals, her first finishes since the 2020 season after missing two years due to injury.

*Sophomore Erika Chung finished with a career-high six points on a goal and career-high five assists, while three more assists by freshman Patricia Columbia-Walsh brings her point total to a team-high 13 points through four games.

*Senior Kelly Van Hoesen tended the net for the full 60 minutes, making four saves for her third win of the season.

*Penn peppered the goal for the day, sending off 43 shots with 32 on target. At the other end of the field, the defense held the Lions to just 12 shots.

QUAKER NOTES
*A typical Penn lacrosse schedule, the team is lined up for a competitive 2023 campaign that includes seven top-25 opponents according to the IWLCA preseason ranking. They have already battled then-No. 16 Johns Hopkins and then-No. 8 Loyola this season. They'll take on No. 22 Jacksonville on Saturday, and the season still has No. 10 Florida on the road, while hosting No. 11 Maryland, No. 15 Yale, and No. 16 Princeton.

*Penn returned nine of its top 10 scorers from last season, six of whom had 20-plus points led by senior Miles with 34 (15 goals, 19 assists).

*The freshman presence is already being felt on the team, as Penn is being led in points through four games by Columbia-Walsh with 13 points. Her first collegiate game against La Salle saw her score twice with three assists, and she has contributed points in every game since. She currently leads the Ivy League and ranks 13th in the nation with 2.50 assists per game.

*Miles and sophomore Anna Brandt lead the squad with 10 goals each so far this year, while Brandt sits 12th in Division I in free-position goals per game with 1.00.

*A stout defensive third for the Quakers is ranked in several categories in the nation. Penn ranks third in caused turnovers per game (12.00), fifth in ground balls per game (20.50), and 18th in scoring defense (8.75 goals allowed).

*On the individual side, Miles ranks 10th in the nation in caused turnovers per game (2.50) while senior Izzy Rohr is close behind in 17th with 2.00. Back between the pipes, Van Hoesen sits 17th in the country and top in the league in goals-against average (8.50).

*Head coach Karin Corbett is in her 24th season at the helm, owning 243 of the program's 396 wins.
