Women's Tennis Set to Host Drexel for Sunday Match

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis team is set to host the Drexel Dragons to close out the February portion of its 2022-23 schedule on Sunday. The match is set to begin at noon.

Penn and Drexel are meeting for the 15th time. The Quakers have dominated the all-time series winning all 14 previous matches. Penn cruised to a 6-1 win over the Dragons in 2022 as it had secured the match point before Drexel won its first point.
 
Penn is coming off a dominating 7-0 victory over Villanova on Wednesday. The Quakers were victorious in all three doubles matches and all six singles matches. Penn cruised through five singles matches winning in straight-sets. In the final singles match, freshmen Claire Zhang won her first collegiate match in the tiebreaker after winning set one 6-3 and dropping the second set 6-1 before winning the tiebreaker.
 
Drexel is also coming off a 7-0 win as the Dragons defeated Norfolk State on Friday at home. The Dragons used a pair of 6-0 doubles wins to clinch the doubles point. After a pair of wins by walkover gave Drexel a 3-0 lead, it used four two set wins to secure the shutout victory over the Spartans.
