Men's Basketball Closes Out Home Schedule Saturday vs. Dartmouth

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's basketball team is home for one final game this season, hosting Dartmouth on Saturday in a contest critical to the Quakers' Ivy League championship hopes.

Penn enters these last two games tied with Princeton and Yale for first place in the standings—all three teams boasting 8-4 records—and has a chance to win its 27th Ivy League title. The regular-season title is noteworthy for more than the ring, of course; the ILT's top seed is guaranteed postseason play, earning an NIT bid if it doesn't win Ivy Madness. Here are the remaining schedules for the Quakers, Tigers and Bulldogs...
 PENN: 2/25 Dartmouth, 3/4 @Princeton
 PRINCETON: 2/25 @Harvard, 3/4 Penn
 YALE: 2/25 Cornell, 3/4 @Brown

Thank You, Seniors!
Prior to tipoff, the program will honor four graduating players (Jonah Charles, Max Lorca-Lloyd, Lucas Monroe, Michael Moshkovitz) and two graduating student managers. Those festivities will begin at approximately 6:40 p.m., about 20 minutes before tipoff.

Ivy Madness Ticket Punched
On Monday morning the Ivy League officially confirmed what was widely assumed: Penn has already punched its ticket for the 2023 Ivy League Tournament. Ivy Madness will take place March 11-12 at Princeton's Jadwin Gym, with both of Saturday's semifinals (11/1:30) airing live on ESPNU and Sunday's championship game (noon) airing live on ESPN2. Single-game and all-session tickets are already available at IvyMadness.com (and can be purchased here).

The Series with Dartmouth
*The Quakers and the Big Green are meeting for the 223rd time, with Penn holding a 157-65 lead in the series.

*The home team has won each of the last five games in this series. That includes Dartmouth's 75-71 win at the Leede Arena in Hanover, N.H. on January 14. In that contest, the Big Green overcame a 13-point deficit early in the second half and outscored the Quakers 11-4 over the final four minutes to gain the victory.

*Nick Spinoso and Max Martz led Penn offensively in that contest, both of them scoring 22 points. In Spinoso's case, that was a career high, while for Martz it matched a career best.

*Of note in that game, Jordan Dingle scored just 14 points which ended a 13-game streak of 20-point outings that was the longest by a Penn player since Ernie Beck did it 16 straight times as a senior way back in 1952-53.

Penn MBB by the Numbers
0 - Penn losses this season when holding its opponent below 70 points; the Quakers are 13-0 in such games.

5.1 - Points-per-game difference between Ivy League games (11.3) and non-conference games (6.2) by sophomore Nick Spinoso; he has 111 points across the Quakers' last nine Ivy contests (12.3 ppg) with a 60.3 FG percentage in that span (47-78).

6 - Consecutive Ivy League wins by Penn, its longest streak since the 2017-18 team opened its Ivy campaign 7-0 en route to the regular-season co-championship at 12-2; that team would later win Ivy Madness at The Palestra.

7 - Consecutive wins overall by Penn, its longest streak since 2011-12; the last Quakers team to win eight straight was the 2006-07 squad.

10 - Penn players with at least one double-figure scoring game this season; the Quakers have had at least 10 players with a double-digit scoring game in five of Coach Donahue's seven seasons, after doing it just eight times from 1951-2015.

11 - Dingle's standing on Penn's all-time scoring list, with 1,462 points; Jerome Allen (1992-95) is 10th with 1,488 points, while Stan Pawlak (1964-66) is ninth with 1,501.

11.3 – Scoring average over the last four games for junior Clark Slajchert; he has hit double figures in three of the last four games—including a team-high 19 vs. Brown last Saturday—after seven single-digit outings.

13.2 - Scoring average over the last seven games for junior Max Martz, including 18 in last Saturday's win over Brown; he also had 10 rebounds against the Bears for his second collegiate double-double.

17 - Offensive rebounds pulled down by junior Andrew Laczkowski this season, out of his 38 boards total.

20 - 20-point games by Dingle this season, including seven in a row before being "held" to 18 and 12 last weekend; the junior already has 41 such games for his career, good for fourth on Penn's all-time list behind Ernie Beck (54), Keven McDonald (43) and Stan Pawlak (42).

23.3 - Dingle's scoring average entering the weekend, second nationally behind Detroit Mercy's Antoine Davis (27.9).

+28 - Penn's rebound margin over Brown last Saturday (51-23), the widest against a Division 1 opponent since February 2, 1974 when the Quakers had a +37 margin against Columbia (65-28).

32.1 - Penn's three-point FG defense in Ivy League play entering the weekend, tops among Ancient Eight programs.

34 - Consecutive double-figure scoring games by Dingle, tied for the fifth-longest streak in program history with AJ Brodeur (2017-20); Keven McDonald (1976-78) is fourth, at 38 straight games.

40.3 - Penn's overall FG defense in Ivy play entering the weekend, tops among Ancient Eight programs.

47.1 - Penn's shooting percentage in Ivy play entering the weekend, tops among Ancient Eight programs.

59 - Rebounds grabbed over the last seven games by Lucas Monroe; the senior—who had five boards in each of last weekend's wins—had his first collegiate double-double against a Division 1 opponent on February 4 vs. Cornell (12 pts/13 rbs), then finished one point shy of a double-double two weeks ago at Harvard (9 pts/10 rbs).

95.2 - Dingle's FT percentage across Penn's last four games (20-21); he went 4-4 against Cornell three weeks ago, 9-9 two weeks ago at Harvard, and 7-8 last weekend vs. Yale and Brown.
