Korzeniowski Tabbed in MLS SuperDraft by Philadelphia Union

PHILADELPHIA – Another milestone added to the resume. Junior Stas Korzeniowski of the University of Pennsylvania men's soccer was drafted 53rd overall in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft by the Philadelphia Union on Tuesday night.

Korzeniowski helped lead Penn to its second consecutive Ivy League regular-season title and the first seed in the inaugural tournament this season. The junior, who was named the 2022 Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year, had a strong third-year campaign, leading the Quakers in points (20) and assists (8) en route to All-Ivy second team honors.

In the Red and Blue's Ivy League semifinal matchup with Brown, Korzeniowski put on a show, tallying three points, including the game-tying goal late in the second overtime to force the match to penalty kicks.

The New Jersey native racked in plenty of postseason recognition this year, landing USC All-Northeast Region second team, CSC All-District, Ivy League All-Tournament, and Philly Soccer Six All-Star to go along with his All-Ivy nod.

Korzeniowski is the third player to be drafted under James C. Gentle Head Coach Brian Gill, with forward Ben Stitz and goalkeeper Nick Christoffersen getting picked up in the 2023 SuperDraft. The junior was the only player from the Ivy League to earn the honor of being drafted this season.
