How It Happened
Penn's defense did a great job keeping Navy in check in the early goings of the contest, holding the Mids to a three-and-out on their first drive and then forcing a turnover on downs on a goal-line stand with 9:38 remaining in the frame.

After a three-and-out for the Penn offense, Navy QB Brandon Atwood threw an interception into the arms of Josh Johnson to give the ball back to the offensive side.

The Mids used the end of the first quarter to bridge into the start of the second to come away with their first scoring drive and take a 7-0 lead. Following a successful onside kick, Navy scored again 51 seconds later to lead 13-0 at the half.

Navy scored 21 unanswered points to take a 33-0 edge with 7:44 remaining in the fourth quarter.

The Quakers got on the board with 1:24 left in the final stanza, an eight-yard pass from Ty Scherer to Kyle Zeitlian, cutting the score down to 33-7.
