SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Unviersity of Pennsylvania women's basketball team continued its west coast trip on Saturday at San Diego State, falling to the Aztecs, 74-49.

Stina Almqvist registered her fourth 20-point performance in five games, leading the way with 24 points including 12-for-14 from the free-throw line.

How It Happened
The Aztecs jumped out early with the first six points of the game before Almqvist knocked in her first points of the day on a layup.

The lead extended for SDSU after Penn's first bucket by the midway mark of the first quarter, 13-2, until Almqvist added a pair of free throws and Obi hit a second-chance jumper from the left baseline to cut into the deficit.

By the end of the first frame, the Aztecs built their advantage back up to 10, a double-digit lead that held through the entire second quarter. Penn trailed at the half, 34-16, led by Almqvist with 12 points.

The junior from Kinna, Sweden stayed hot in the third quarter, adding another seven points, but the Aztecs continued to build their lead to as much as 24 to head into the final frame, 58-34.

For the fourth time this season, Almqvist eclipsed the 20-point mark with another pair of free throws midway through the final quarter. She hit five free throws in the final quarter to bring her total to 24 points for the game.

Marianna Papazoglou wrapped up the scoring for the Quakers, each knocking in threes in the closing two minutes.
