PHILADELPHIA – After taking on Brown at home last weekend The University of Pennsylvania men's and women's swimming and diving teams head back on the road for another two Ivy League matchups, facing host Princeton and Cornell on Saturday. Start time is set for 11 a.m. from DeNunzio Pool.

The Quaker men earned their first Ivy League victory of the 2023-2024 season in dramatic fashion against the Bears at Sheerr Pool, winning 155-143 while tallying eight first-place finishes including a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay to close out the meet.

The Penn women managed five victories against Brown but dropped the dual to fall to 0-2 in Ivy competition so far this season.

Quaker Notemeal
*On the men's side,
Matthew Fallon claimed three victories in dominating the 100-yard breaststroke (53.98), 200 breast (1:56.09), and the 200-yard individual medley (1:49.74).

James Curreri had a pair of victories as well, earning a first-place finish in the 100 backstroke (49.14) and leading the 1-2-3 sweep of the 200 backstroke (1:48.05) with
Daniel Gallagher (1:49.96) and
Benji Ham (1:51.26) right behind in second and third.

*The Quakers added yet another 1-2-3 sweep in the 200-yard butterfly as
Peter Whittington headlined the win with a time of 1:50.16.
Andrew Dai (1:51.49) and
Peter Lee (1:51.59) claimed second and third place.

*The Red and Blue's day ended with a win in the aforementioned 400 free relay with the team of
Alex Fu,
Liam Campbell, Curreri, and senior
Ben Feldman taking home the final victory with a time of 3:01.00.

*Against Brown, the Penn women were led by a pair of wins for
Anna Kalandadze and
Kate Levensten.

*Kalandadze continues to impress after leading a 1-2-3 sweep in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:03.67 alongside Syndey Bergstrom (10:09.51) and
Amelia Girotto (10.19.88).

*Levensten earned two wins as she took first place in the 100 (55.20) and 200-yard (2:00.09) backstroke.

Meredith Holcomb picked up a win in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:05.48.

Opponent Insight
Both Princeton's men and women's swimming and diving teams are undefeated to start their season with a perfect 3-0 record.

The men's last win came in a landslide victory against Columbia, 202-95. The women last beat Rutgers while cruising past the Scarlet Knights, 191.50-108.50.
The Tigers' combined point differential against opponents is 302 for the men and 249 for the women as they have been dominant so far this season.

For Cornell, the men's team enters the weekend with a 3-1 overall record (1-1 in Ivy competition) after claiming its first Ivy League victory against Dartmouth last weekend, 196-104. The Big Red earned three victories against the Big Green taking home the 200-yard medley relay (Logan Holt, Sebastian Wolff, Joseph Gurski and Will Taner), 100-yard breaststroke (Wolff), and 100-yard butterfly (Gurski).

The women are undefeated to start the season with a record of 4-0 earning both victories in Ivy competition beating out Harvard and Dartmouth. The women also earned three victories against Dartmouth taking first-place in 200-yard relay (Ming Xu, Amy Wu, Emilie Boisrenoult and Priscilla Wongso), 100-yard breaststroke (Audrey Holden), and 200-yard backstroke (Hojung Yoon).
