How It Happened
Monmouth had a firm grip on the first 45 minutes, scoring early and holding the Red and Blue to one shot on goal in the half.

Around the 12-minute mark, senior Christoffersen made his first save of the game after the Hawks shot one at the bottom center of the goal. A few minutes later, Monmouth's Jakob Friedman got one past Christoffersen to give the guests their 1-0 lead. The Hawks kept applying pressure on the Quaker goalkeeper, but Christoffersen found his footing to save his second shot of the night during the 17th minute.

Korzeniowski tried to find a spark for the Quaker offense, attempting back-to-back shots in the 18th and 19th minutes, but both were redirected before they could get on goal. Sakalosky had Penn's first shot on goal late in the first during the 43rd minute, but it was saved by Monmouth goalkeeper Eryk Dymora to end the first half with the Hawks ahead by one.

The second half started pretty quiet for both teams, with Monmouth attempting shots high above the goal in the 58th and 59th minutes.

Senior teDuits took the first shot on net in the second half, just after the hour mark, but it was snatched up by Dymora. However, teDuits' shot seemed to fire up the offense as Korzeniowski blasted one on the goalkeeper that was stopped but not saved, giving Hewes enough time to clean up for his fourth goal of the season.

The Quakers tried to keep the momentum going after Hewes' goal with Charlie Gaffney, Hewes and Messer all attempting shots that were stifled by Monmouth's defense before they could get on net. Messer tried to break the tie with a little more than two minutes left of the game, getting a quick shot on net, but the Monmouth goalkeeper prevailed to hold the score at its final tally of 1-1.
