PHILADELPHIA – The 21st-ranked University of Pennsylvania Wrestling team will host a pair of EIWA/Ivy League duals at The Palestra this weekend. Penn is set for 7 p.m. start times against Brown on Friday night and Harvard on Saturday night.

Scouting the opponents
Brown is coming off a 35-6 loss to #6 Cornell. The Bears earned decision wins at 133 and 157 for their six points in the dual. Brown tied the dual at 3-3 after the second bout as Hunter Adrian defeated Cornell's Ethan Fernandez in a 4-2 decision. Sam McMonagle cut the Cornell lead in half with a 4-2 sudden victory over the Big Red's Cole Handlovic. After that it was all Cornell as the Big Red easily won the final five bouts with two pins, a tech fall and a pair of decisions for the 35-6 win at Brown.   
 
Harvard opened its conference action with a pair of EIWA losses in Cambridge. The Crimson opened the day with a close back-and-forth dual against Binghamton. The home team held a slight 10-6 advantage through the first five bouts but four wins, including a major decision over four of the final five bouts gave the visitors the 19-13 victory. The second dual of the day for Harvard was a very one sided dual as Harvard earned just three wins at 125, 157, and 285. Trevor Tarsi won by fall. #6 Cornell won the dual by a 27-12 final.
 
Quaker Notemeal
* For the second straight season, head coach Roger Reina has named Carmen Ferrante, Doug Zapf, and Ben Goldin as captains for the #TheMovement.  
* Seven Quakers continue to earn national recognition. Ryan Miller (125), Michael Colaiocco (133), Anthony Artalona (149), Doug Zapf (157), Lucas Revano (165), Nick Incontrera (174),  Cole Urbas (197), and Ben Goldin (285) all earned national rankings.
* Penn is coming off a 2-0 weekend with  wins over Lehigh and Columbia, winning seven bouts in each dual. The Quakers defeated Lehigh, 23-11, on Friday night at The Palestra. Penn's win was highlighted by bonus point wins by #9 Michael Colaiocco (MD 13-4), and Lucas Revano (MD 12-4). Cole Spencer made his dual debut and used a two-point reversal as time expired in the third period to win by a 6-4 decision. The weekend ended with a 25-9 win at Columbia on Sunday. For the second straight dual, Incontrera won by major decision.  
* Penn will be well represented in the EIWA Hall of Fame Class of 2023 as Clint Mater C'97 W'97 and Dr. Rick Springman EAS'02 Gr'09 will be inducted into the EIWA Hall of Fame. Tickets for the 119th EIWA Championships are on sale now and can be purchased here.
