Wrestling Dominates Columbia for 25-9 Win in New York

NEW YORK – The 24th-ranked University of Pennsylvania wrestling team picked up an EIWA and Ivy League win on Sunday. The Red and Blue finished the weekend 2-0 with a 25-9 win at Columbia. Penn is now 4-4 overall and 3-0 in EIWA competition.
 
#30 Ryan Miller and #9 Michael Colaiocco opened the dual with back-to-back wins putting Penn up 9-0. Miller defeated Nick Babin by a 4-3 decision. A first period pin for Colaiocco over Angelo Rini gave Penn the 9-0 lead. #11 Doug Zapf's 5-1 decision over Danny Fongaro gave the visitors all the dual points they would need as Penn took a 12-3 advantage. Columbia cut Penn's lead to just three with sudden victory wins at 157 and 165.
 
The Quakers closed out the dual with four consecutive wins beginning with #17 Nick Incontrera's win by major decision to give Penn a seven point lead. Maximus Hale won by a 7-2 decision and #33 Cole Urbas earned a 4-2 decision win. #32 Ben Goldin closed the dual with a 6-0 decision.
