Scouting the opponents
Lehigh is coming off a 1-1 week. The Mountain Hawks lost a tightly-contested battle at #6 Cornell. After winning the opening bout, Lehigh lost the next four bouts to trail 15-3 in the meet. Three-straight decision wins at 184, 197, and 285 pulled the Mountain Hawks within three of the Big Red. Cornell took a win at 125 that all but sealed up the dual. Lehigh won the final bout by decision, but it was not enough as Cornell won the meet 18-15. Lehigh closed out the weekend with a 26-12 victory at Binghamton. Behind a tech fall from Malyke Hines and a pin from Max Brignola turned a 6-3 Binghamton advantage to a 14-6 Lehigh lead, a lead they would maintain to the end.

Columbia also went 1-1 last week. The Lions opened the weekend with a commanding 48-0 shutout of American in the Nation's Capital. Two pins and six major decisions propelled Columbia to the 48-point victory, its first dual win of 2022-23. The weekend ended with a 23-12 loss to #13 Oklahoma in New York. Columbia held strong with the Cowboys through the first seven bouts. Oklahoma won the final three bouts with a pair of decisions and a tech fall to take the meet 23-12.
