About Ocean Breeze Complex
The Ocean Breeze Track and Field Athletic Complex is a 135,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art IAAF-certified indoor track and field facility in Ocean Breeze, Park Staten Island. This $93 million athletic complex was funded by the City's PlaNYC initiative, with construction managed in coordination with the New York City Department of Design and Construction (DDC). The facility is the premier destination for athletic events, drawing competitors from around the region. The elite-level hydraulically-banked competition track can convert from eight to six lanes and incline up to 4.5 feet. The facility boasts commanding views of the nearby Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and the Freedom Tower in lower Manhattan. The warm-up area features fitness and cardio rooms, and there's a covered parking lot that accommodates 160 cars. NYC Parks worked with track and field professionals and community groups throughout the planning process and continues to work with local partners to explore youth and adult programming opportunities. On November 19, 2015 the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex became the first facility in the United States to be recognized as a certified IAAF facility.

Familiarity with the Venue
The Quakers are very familiar with Ocean Breeze, holding the Penn Select there during the indoor season the last several seasons. This will be the second time Penn will be at Ocean Breeze this season. The first time was back on December 9, opening the indoor season at the Seahawk Invitational hosted by Wagner.

Penn's Last Time Out
The Quakers opened the indoor season at the Seahawk Invitational back in early December, as the women etched in five top-10 program marks including two by freshmen.
Moforehan Abinusawa not only took first place in the 60m with a time of 7.52, but also placed her name at third in program history. She was followed closely in by
Christiana Nwachuku for a third-place finish (7.59), putting her seventh in the record book. A few returners continued to show impressive careers, as
Katherine Muccio and
Aliya Garozzo also clocked top-10 marks in the 60m hurdles. Muccio set a time of 8.61 for sixth best in program history, while Garozzo crossed the line at 8.72 for ninth in program history. On the infield,
Tamara Grahovac took second place in the triple jump with a clearance of 12.03m (39-5.75) for seventh in history. On top of Abinusawa's top finish in the 60m, the Quakers also won the 600m (Garozzo), the top two spots in the 4x400, the high jump (
Sarah Lavery), and pole vault (
Kai Eisenhardt).
Â
The men also opened the indoor season at the Seahawk Invitational, highlighted by freshman
Shane Gardner with a top-10 program mark in his first collegiate race. He competed in the 60m hurdles, coming through for third place with a time of 8.11 to land him fifth in program history. The men collected several top finishes as well.
Emerson Douds took first in the 300m, while the Quakers also earned the top two spots in the 4x400m. On the infield,
Conrad Moore hit a clearance of 2.00m (6-6.75) in the high jump for the victory.
