The Series With Hartford
The Quakers are meeting the Hawks for the third time in program history with Penn holding an unblemished 2-0 record. Penn has played one game against Hartford in The Palestra, the first meeting on December 2, 2019. The Quakers won the game, 74-46, behind a 20-point performance from then-rookie Kayla Padilla. Between the two prior matchups, the Quakers have scored 159 points for a 79.5 per game average.

Last Time We Met
The two squads opened the 2021-22 season against each other last year in West Hartford, Conn., with the Quakers rolling to an 85-42 decision. It was the first game for the Quakers in 617 days due to the pandemic. The victory was head coach Mike McLaughlin's 200th at the helm of the Penn program. The Quakers tied a program record with 11 blocks, 10 of which came in the first half. With 54 first half points, Penn was three points shy of the program record for points in the first 20 minutes. Padilla again was the leading scorer against the Hawks, dropping 22 points. It was the first game of Jordan Obi's Penn career, scoring 10 points.

About the Hawks
Hartford is in search of its first win this season, entering with an 0-15 tally. The Hawks have played three familiar opponents this season, falling to Brown (68-52), Cornell (89-38), and La Salle (77-30). The Quakers defeated all three opponents. The Hawks are in their first season under head coach Polly Thomason, who became the program's 11th coach back in May 2022. She comes to Hartford after spending 17 seasons as the head coach for DIII University of Texas-Dallas.

Penn's Last Time Out
The Palestra was an electric atmosphere on Saturday night, as the Quakers battled past Columbia (71-67) to remain the only unblemished record in Ivy League play.  Penn extended its win streak to nine games, the second longest in program history, while it snapped the Lions' program-record 10-game win streak. The Quakers are alson on an eight-game home win streak, the third longest in program history. The record is 10 set back in the 2000-01 season. Obi led all scorers with 24 points, while securing her ninth career double-double with a game-high 13 rebounds. Padilla registered 21 points off 8-for-18 shooting and three from beyond the arc. She added five rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
