PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis team is set to send seven student-athletes to the 2022 International Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regionals at Princeton this weekend. The event starts Friday morning and continues through Sunday.
On the singles side, junior
Iris Gallo, sophomores Gavirella Smith,
Saige Roshkoff, and
Eileen Wang, and freshmen
Juliana Munhoz and
Maya Urata. Penn will be represented by the three doubles teams:

Maya Urata,
Gavriella Smith/
Juliana Munhoz, and
Iris Gallo/
Gibson Thomas.
Throughout the fall season the Quakers have seen a lot of great success as they prepared for ITA competition. In singles play, Roshkoff has gone 5-2, and Penn's freshmen duo of Munhoz and Urata have combined to go 8-3. The duo pairs selected for competition this weekend will be paired up for the first time this season.
The three-day two-site tournament is scheduled to take begin on September 30 and conclude on October 2.
