PRINCETON, N.J. – The University of Pennsylvania women's golf team finished fourth out of 11 teams at the Princeton Invitational. The two-day, 54-hole event concluded Sunday on the par-71 course at Springdale Golf Club.
Penn shot 293-298 on Saturday, then concluded the weekend shooting 299 on Sunday to finish at 38-over-par 890. Yale was the team champion, shooting 854 to defeat second-place Harvard by 12 strokes. Georgetown was third at 878, 12 strokes ahead of the Quakers. Among the other Ivy teams in the field, Dartmouth was sixth and Columbia was seventh. Princeton, the tournament host, played all of its players as individuals.
Final Results
Freshman
Bridget O'Keefe was Penn's low scorer over the weekend and had the Quakers' low score in the second and third rounds, finishing tied for seventh in a field of 70 golfers at 1-over-par 214. She shot a 2-under-par 69 on Sunday.
Susan Xiao shot a 1-under-par 70 in Saturday's first round and ended the weekend at 5-over-par 218, placing 10th in the field. Both O'Keefe and Xiao tied for third in the field in par-5 scoring (-2), with O'Keefe tying for fifth with 10 birdies and Xiao tying for fifth with 38 pars.
Freshman
Julie Shin shot 228 on the weekend and tied for 25th,
Natalie Cao carded 232 and tied for 38th, while
Selina Li scored for Penn in the first and third rounds and tied for 44th overall.
Debby Chang (53rd) and
Eunice Kim (t-58th) were in the field as individuals.
Princeton's Yunjan Liu won individual medalist honors as she went 66-69-69 to finish at 9-under-par 204. That was four shots ahead of Georgetown's Gabriella Gilrowski.
