WEST HARRISON, N.Y. – The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis saw its four-match win streak come to an end on Friday evening in West Harrison, N.Y. The Quakers dropped its second Ivy match of the season, a 4-2 loss at #56 Columbia.
Penn got off to a hot start as it took the early lead winning the doubles point.
Marija Curnic and
Iuliia Bryzgalova earned a 6-2 win on court one and then the Red and Blue clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win on court three by
Amanda Chan and
Ekaterina Vinnik.
Columbia won four singles matches to clinch the match. Bryzgalova evened the match score at 2-2 with a two-set victory over #112 Akanksha Bhan, 6-3, 6-2. The Lions picked up wins on courts four and five to clinch the victory.
