PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis team returns home for a pair of Ivy matches. The weekend will open on Saturday against Dartmouth and conclude on Sunday hosting Harvard. Both matches are set for a 1 p.m. first serve.

The Quakers are coming off a 2-0 weekend with wins at Brown and Yale. Penn took the opening match at Brown with a 4-0 victory as it earned the doubles point and then picked up singles wins by
Sabine Rutlauka,
Gavriella Smith, and
Saige Roshkoff to earn the win. The weekend ended with a 4-1 victory at Yale. Once again Penn took the doubles point as
Marija Curnic and
Iuliia Bryzgalova claimed a 6-4 win to clinch the doubles point. Singles wins by Rutlauka, Smith and Curnic gave the Red and Blue a 4-1 match victory. With the wins Penn improved its Ivy record to 2-1 and is has won four of its last six matches.
The Big Green are coming off a 4-3 victory against Columbia on Sunday. They are 1-2 in Ivy matches having dropped its matches against Harvard (4-0) and Cornell (4-3). Sunday's match was extremely back and forth as Dartmouth took a the doubles point and jumped out to a 2-0 lead winning the first singles flight. Columbia battled back and took singles wins at No. 3 and 2 to tie it at 2-2. The teams were tied 3-3 and it came down to the final set as the two split the first two sets. Elizabeth Fahrmeier clinched the match point for the home team with a 7-5 win in the final set.
Harvard is 3-0 in Ivy play and is currently on a six-match win streak. Last weekend, the Crimson earned wins over Columbia and Cornell. In the win over Columbia, Harvard won the doubles point and then took wins at 6, 5, and 3 to clinch the match, 4-1. The Crimson swept the doubles point against Cornell for the early 1-0 lead. The teams were tied 2-2 after the first three singles courts finished. Harvard took the 3-2 lead and then clinched the match with a two-set victory by Rachel Arbitman for the 4-2 win over Cornell.
