NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis team extended its win streak to two as it defeated Yale 4-1 on Sunday afternoon. Penn improved to 2-1 in Ivy play and 12-8 overall in 2022.
Penn earned the doubles point with wins on court one
Marija Curnic and
Iuliia Bryzgalova, 6-4, and on court two
Sabine Rutlauka and
Eileen Wang won 6-1 to clinch the doubles point for the Red and Blue.
Penn went up 2-0 as Rutlauka won in straight sets, 6-1 and 6-2. Yale's Cheng won on court six for their only point of the match. Curnic put Penn up 3-1 with a pair of 6-2 wins.
Gavriella Smith won 6-0 and 6-4 to clinch the match point for the Quakers.
