ROCKVILLE, Md. – The University of Pennsylvania women's golf team had the best score among the 13 teams in Sunday's final round, which allowed the Quakers to finish in a tie for third place at the Hoya Invitational. The 54-hole event, hosted by Georgetown, took place at the par-72 Woodmont Country Club.

Penn shot 305 as a team on Sunday, climbing from sixth place after Saturday's two rounds to third. The Quakers finished the event with a 926 score, tying Princeton for third place. Boston University won the team title, shooting 915 for the weekend which had the Terriers four shots ahead of second-place Harvard (919). Among the other Ivy teams in the field, Yale was fifth at 929, just three strokes behind Penn and Princeton, while Columbia was ninth (953).
Individually, freshman
Natalie Cao was Penn's low scorer on the weekend. She shot an 80 on Sunday and finished the weekend at 15-over-par 231 which had her tied for 11th in a field of 68 golfers who finished the event. Of note, Cao had the best score on par-5 holes over the weekend at 3-under-par.
Classmate
Eunice Kim shot a 76 on Sunday and ended the tournament just one shot behind Cao, tied for 13th at 232. Seniors
Leila Dizon (74) and
Mary Shin (75) had Penn's best rounds on Sunday and ended the weekend one and two shots behind Kim at 233 and 234, respectively, tying for 17th and 19th. Junior
Susan Xiao shot 80 on Sunday and finished t-34th on the weekend with a 238 score.
BU's Kristy Chen and Princeton Kyung Eun Lee tied for first place on the individual scoreboard, scoring 224, while Yale's Ami Gianchandani and Stetson's Hanna Kiefer finished one stroke back.
Penn has one more tuneup before the Ivy League Championship; that's the Hartford Invitational, which takes place Friday and Saturday at Gillette Ridge Golf Club in Bloomfield, Conn.
