Men's Tennis Falls 5-2 Against No. 19 Pepperdine

MALIBU, Calif. – The University of Pennsylvania men's tennis team dropped the opening match of their California Spring Break trip, 5-2, to #19 Pepperdine Tuesday night..

The Waves took the doubles point after taking the second and third-flight doubles matches by identical 6-3 margins. The #1 team of Edoardo Graziani and Jason Hildebrandt were leading their match 5-3 when action was halted ahead of singles play.

In singles action, Harsh Parikh dropped his first match of the Spring, falling to 7-1, but Aditya Gupta kept Penn within one point, 2-1, moving to 7-0 with a straight-set win.

After Pepperdine took a 3-1 lead, Baylor Sai picked up a three-set win from the six position to pull the Quakers back within one with two matches to play, but the Waves closed the day with a pair of three-set wins including Daniel De Jonge, the #13 singles player in the latest ITA collegiate rankings, handing Graziani his first singles loss of the Spring.
