BOSTON - The University of Pennsylvania men's heavyweight rowing team fell in all three races on Saturday against Northeastern, including the Burk Cup race that was contested between the Varsity Eights. The races took place early Saturday morning on the Charles River.
Northeastern won the Varsity Eights race with a time of 6:09.9, finishing nearly three seconds ahead of Penn which clocked 6:12.8. In the Second Varsity Eights race, the Huskies earned a 1.5-second victory, clocking 6:20.5 to Penn's 6:22.0. In the Third Varsity Eights race, NU covered the 2,000-meter course in 6:21.0 while Penn was timed in 6:25.4.
Penn will return to action on April 9, racing Columbia and Princeton for the Childs Cup in Leonia, N.J.
