PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's heavyweight crew had a successful Saturday on the Schuylkill River, posting the fastest time in four of the five divisions in which the Quakers competed at the Head of the Schuylkill regatta.

The day started with the pairs without cox, Penn putting two boats on the water. Keenan Heinz and Brian Lawson posted the fastest time among 16 boats that raced, clocking 13:08.339 which was 17 seconds ahead of the next-fastest boat. The duo of Chris Inglis and Stefano Solano was fifth, in 13:44.585.
 
In the Frosh/Novice Fours, Penn's only boat clocked 12:51.778 which was more than ten seconds faster than Temple's second-fastest boat (13:02.232). Overall, 20 boats competed in the division.
 
The Quakers also had just one boat in the Championship Fours and it was the fastest among 41 that raced. Penn covered the Schuylkill's three-mile course in 12:13.739 which was more than ten seconds ahead of Temple's second-place boat (12:23.810).
 
Penn had two boats compete in the Club Championship Eights. Drexel was the fastest of the 45 boats in the division, clocking 11:27.218. Penn's 'A' boat was second overall, in 11:41.392, while the Quakers' 'B' boat was tenth in 12:12.353.
 
Penn's top two boats went 1-2 in the Championship Eights division to close out the day, the Red and Blue's 'A' boat clocking 10:46.091 and the 'B' boat finishing in 10:52.947. Penn's 'C' boat was sixth in the 17-boat field in 11:07.806.
