Niki Miles led the Quakers with three points each. Themelis scored two goals and sent out an assist, while Miles had a hat trick of goals.

How It Happened
A fast start by the Terps had Maryland ahead by three in the first four minutes of the game.
Lexi Edmonds silenced the run with a goal at the 10:55 mark off a pass from
Aly Feeley, but the Terps responded with four straight to end the first quarter with a 7-1 lead.

The Quakers erased any doubt in their scoring ability scoring four goals across the first 10 minutes of the second quarter while holding Maryland to just one to close the gap to three, 8-5. In the stretch,
Kaitlyn Cumiskey scored her 10th goal of the season to open the second frame.

Themelis and Miles put together a three-goal run in the quarter, with Themelis finding the back of the net twice and Miles splitting them with her first of three for the night.

Maryland answered with three more goals before the half, as Penn trailed at the break, 11-5.

A rain-filled game and tight defense saw only one goal in the third quarter, coming at 11:59 by the Terps to carry a 12-5 advantage into the final frame.

In the fourth, the Quakers made every effort to close the gap, putting together their best quarter of the game. Penn opened the period with three-straight goals by
Keeley Block, Cumiskey and Miles. Maryland paused the stretch with a goal before
Chloe Hunter shoved in an unassisted attempt to put Penn within four, 13-9, with just over four minutes remaining.

The Terps found the back of the net two more times to push their lead back to six before Miles and Edmonds closed it to four in the final 30 seconds of the game.
