ABOUT THE PENN CHALLENGE
The event will play host to eight Division I programs: Penn, Cornell, Penn State, La Salle, Villanova, St. John's, Princeton, and Lehigh. The Quakers have been hosting the Penn Challenge at Franklin Field since the 2016 season.

SENSE OF NORMALCY
Although the Quakers competed in the outdoor season last year, there were still a lot of restrictions due to the pandemic, including the competition that could attend the five home meets in 2021. On Saturday, the restrictions are more lenient including no mileage radius of teams that can attend. Last year's Penn Challenge had five teams attend, with four being from Philadelphia. This year, two squads from New York, two from north Pennsylvania, and one from New Jersey will be in attendance.

LAST OUTDOOR SEASON
The Quakers made the most out of the 2021 outdoor season after competition was granted again by the Ivy League in March. Penn competed in seven regular season meets, five of which were hosted by the Quakers. A successful regular season led to 10 Quakers continuing their years at the NCAA East Preliminaries in Florida where Isabella Whittaker set a program record in the 400m and qualified for the national championship in Oregon with a time of 51.92. At the outdoor championships, Whittaker posted a time of 53.42 in the semifinals to earn her All-America Honorable Mention honors in just her first season with Penn.
