Men’s Tennis Falls to Host Toreros on Day Two of San Diego Shakedown

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The University of Pennsylvania men's tennis team rallied from a 2-0 deficit to knot the match at two, but eventually fell to the University of San Diego, 4-2, on the second and final day of the San Diego Shakedown Friday afternoon.

Washington took the early doubles point, then added to their lead with a win at second singles. Harsh Parikh got the Quakers on the board with a straight-set win at #5 singles, and Aditya Gupta, who suffered his first singles loss of the season yesterday, added a straight-set win of his own at #3.

Playing his fourth opponent in as many days in the top 15 of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Collegiate Singles Rankings, Edoardo Graziani dropped two close sets at #1 as San Diego re-took the lead, 3-2, then clinched the match shortly thereafter with another close two-set win at #6.

Kevin Zhu had just tied his match at one set apiece when play was stopped for the day following San Diego's match clinch.
