PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's tennis coach
Rich Bonfiglio has announced that seniors
Manfredi Graziani and
Matthew Rutter will serve as the team's captains for the 2026 spring season.
"I couldn't be more excited to announce Manfredi and Matt as captains," said Bonfiglio, who is now in his fourth year as the Quakers head coach. "They've been with Stratton and I since the beginning here. They've not only been big contributors on the court in singles and doubles for us in their careers, but they've been a big part of helping instill the culture we've built here in my time. They're both great ambassadors of our program and Penn, and I can't wait to compete this spring with them leading the way."
Graziani continues his senior season at Penn after beginning the year off with a bang. Aside from being one half of the first All-American doubles team in program history, Graziani continues to make noise in the singles realm. Starting out the year ranked #117 on the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's preseason rankings, Graziani had an impressive 8-3 singles fall campaign and currently sits as a career-best #41 ranking in the latest release.
Likewise, senior Rutter continues his fourth year in University City. He has accrued four wins already this fall, highlighted by a semifinals run in the Ivy Masters tournament. Rutter will look to build off this fall season and look to best his 12-win spring season from 2025.
