Eileen Wang earned her first victory as she bounced back from a first loss. She would even the score at one set a piece with a 6-3 victory in the second set and claim the point for Penn with a 10-8 victory in the final set.
The Hawks were set to open their season hosting Coppin State, but that match was postponed due to weather in the Philadelphia area last weekend.
NJIT is coming off a 5-2 victory at Rutgers last Friday. The Highlanders rallied from behind after dropping the doubles point. NJIT bounced back winning five of the six singles flights. Four of their five victories came in straight sets.
