*Penn is playing its regular season game at Franklin Field in 715 days. Saturday's game will also mark Penn's third straight home game against a nationally ranked opponent dating back to the 2020 season.
*The Red and Blue are ranked 10th in USILA coaches poll and 11th in the
Inside Lacrosse media poll. Georgetown is ranked third in both polls.
*The Quakers and the Hoyas are playing for the first time since 1994. No players on either were born the last time Penn and Georgetown squared off.

Sam Handley and
Dylan Gergar were named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List.
*Handley was tabbed as a Preseason All-American by by both
US Lacrosse Magazine and
Inside Lacrosse.

BJ Farrare was named a Preseason All-American by
US Lacrosse Magazine. Farrare was Honorable Mention All-Ivy in 2019 and he was also tabbed as a CollegeCrosse.com All-Freshman selection following his freshman season.
*As a freshman in 2019, Handley was a first-team USILA All-America, first-team Inside Lacrosse All-American, the Inside Lacrosse Freshman of the Year, the unanimous Ivy League Rookie of the Year, a unanimous first-team All-Ivy selection, the ECAC Rookie of the Year, and a CollegeCrosse.com All-Freshman selection. Handley played one game in 2020, scoring three goals and adding two assists, before suffering a season-ending injury.
*Gergar had a breakout season in 2020. In just five games, he set new career highs in goals (19), points (23) and groundballs (7). He scored seven goals and added two assists in Penn's win over Cabrini in 2021. Gergar has appeared in 22 games and started each of the last six for the Quakers. He's scored 43 goals to go along with 11 assists for 54 career points.
*Penn named five captains prior to the start of the season. The five Quakers selected to lead the Red and Blue as team captains are:
Ben Bedard,
Piper Bond,
Dylan Gergar,
Sam Handley, and
Theo Lenz.
*The Quakers were picked to finish second in the Ivy League's Preseason Media Poll, which came from the votes of two members of each school's media contingent.
