ITHACA, N.Y. – The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis finished in fourth place at the 2022 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Women's Tennis Indoor Championship. Penn lost 5-2 to Columbia in the third-place match. This year's tournament took place on the campus of Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y.
Penn got off to an early lead as it took the doubles point with wins by #40 Iuliia Bryzgalov and
Marija Curnic winning 6-1. The Quakers clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win by
Gavriella Smith and
Eileen Wang.
Columbia got on the board as it took a victory on court 2 and then took a 3-1 lead with wins on courts 6 and 3. Penn closed the gap to one with a win on court 5 by #98
Saige Roshkoff. As courts 1 and 4 ended simultaneously ended, Columbia claimed the team victory and third place in the tournament.
