ITHACA, N.Y. – The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis team dropped a 4-2 contest to Harvard on Saturday evening in the semifinals of the 2022 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Women's Tennis Indoor Championship. This year's tournament is being played on the campus of Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y.
With the loss to Harvard, Penn will play Columbia at 2 p.m. for third place.
The #38 ranked doubles team of
Iuliia Bryzgalova and
Marija Curnic opened their day with a 6-1 win at the top flight. Courts two and three would go the Crimson way to give them the early 1-0 lead.
In singles action, #70 Bryzgalova used a pair of 6-3 set victories to claim the point for Penn. The Quakers picked up their second team point on court 3 as
Gavriella Smith won 6-2 and 6-4 to earn the victory.
