Wrestling Set to Take on #19 Princeton and Drexel

PHILADELPHIA – Penn Wrestling will take on #19 Princeton and Drexel this weekend in dual meet action. The Quakers will be at Princeton on Saturday and then host Drexel at The Palestra on Sunday for Senior Day.

This Sunday #TheMovement will honor its eight seniors prior to the meet. Neil Antrassian, Grant Arnoff, Greg Bensley, Jake Hendricks, Willy Kaiser, Blair Orr, and Josh Swanson will all be celebrated for their hard work and dedication to Penn Wrestling over the last four years. Penn will also honor a senior team manager, Eva Faenza for her commitment and hard work to Penn Wrestling.

Last weekend, then-#19 Penn went 2-1 on the weekend to improve to 5-2 overall. The Quakers weekend started with a huge victory at #14 Lehigh, 24-7. The visitors jumped out to a 12-0 lead that started with an overtime victory by #21 Lucas Revano, #18 Incontrera, #32 Neil Antrassian, and #29 Cole Urbas all followed with their own victories. Penn battled #11 Cornell to a 20-12 loss at The Palestra on Sunday. Revano kicked things off with an 8-2 decision. After the next five bouts would go the Big Red's way, #9 Michael Colaiocco won 7-4 and then #16 CJ Composto followed that with a 5-1 decision pulling Penn within seven. Cornell would clinch the meet with a major decision at 149 pounds but #20 Doug Zapf ended the meet on a high note as he won 4-2.  The final meet of the weekend was all Penn as it would trounce LIU, 50-0. Revano, Antrassian and Zapf all won by major decision. Incontrera, Urbas, Colaiocco, and Artalona all won by technical fall. #29 Ben Goldin and Blair Orr went back-to-back with pins for the Quakers. 
 
Princeton went 1-1 last week defeating Rider, 33-7, and losing to #11 Cornell, 21-12. The loss to Cornell ended a four-meet win streak. Princeton picked up wins against the Big Red at 125, 141, 157, and 165 pounds. Princeton's roster features four ranked wrestlers including #1 Patrick Glory (125).
 
Drexel went 2-1 last weekend with wins over Hofstra and LIU. The Dragons loss was to #11 Cornell. The loss to the Big Red ended a three-meet win streak. Drexel currently has four ranked wrestlers including #32 Luke Nichter (149), #32 Parker Kropman (157), #24 Evan Barczak (165), #9 Michael O'Malley (174),
 
Quaker Notemeal
* For the 2021-22 season, Roger Reina has named Carmen Ferrante, Zapf, and Ben Goldin as captains for the #TheMovement. 
*For the third week in a row Penn had at least one wrestler ranked in each of the ten weight classes
* Ten Quakers currently hold national rankings* as announced by six national outlets. Miller (125), Colaiocco (133), Composto (141), Anthony Artalona (149), Zapf (157), Lucas Revano (165), Nick Incontrera (174), Neil Antrassian (184), Cole Urbas (197), Goldin (285) all earned national rankings.
