Stiles Finishes Top 3, Cross Country Clocks Successful Ivy Heps Outing

BRONX, N.Y. – Junior Maeve Stiles put on a show Friday at the Ivy League Heptagonal Cross Country Championships at Van Cortlandt Park, taking third place overall to lead the University of Pennsylvania cross country squads. The women finished third with 80 points, while the men took sixth with 163 points.
 
WOMEN'S RESULTS (6K): MEN'S RESULTS (5 Mile):   
QUAKER NOTEMEAL
*Stiles' third-place finish earns her First Team All-Ivy. She is the first top three finisher for the Quakers since 2016 when Ashley Montgomery took second at West Windsor Fields. Stiles' time of 20:58.5 is the second fastest Ivy Heps time by a Penn runner, only behind Montgomery's 2016 time of 20:31.7.
 
*Bader and Murphy finishing in the top 14 both earned Second Team All-Ivy. Bader's time of 21:21.8 ranks seventh at Ivy Heps for a Quaker all time.
 
*The women's team scoring three All-Ivy runners has only been done one other time in program history, in 2019 when the Quakers had Maddie Villalba make first and Ariana Gardizy and Nia Akins on second.
 
*Keehan was the top finisher for the men's team, taking 21st on the five-mile course.
 
*All five men's scorers clocked sub-26-minute times.
 
*Freshmen Murphy and Dodda were each top three scorers for the Quakers in their first collegiate championship race.
 
UP NEXT
The Quakers take two weeks to gear up for the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships, taking place in State College on Friday, November 11. Penn raced on the course in the season opener back on September 9 for the Spiked Shoe Invitational.
