Season Finale Pits Sprint Football Against Mansfield at Franklin Field

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania sprint football team will finish out its 2022 season Friday night, hosting Mansfield for Senior Night at Franklin Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be streamed live on ESPN+ (subscription required).
 
The Quakers (3-3, 2-1 CSFL South) lost control of their championship game destiny with a 42-14 defeat at the hands of unbeaten Navy on the road last Friday night. The Midshipmen will clinch the CSFL South division title with a victory over Alderson Broaddus in their final contest of the regular season.

Finishing Touches
The Quakers will finish the year in front of their own fans Friday night, where the team is 2-1 at Franklin Field on the season. Penn had won two consecutive games before a loss to Navy in the game that ultimately decided the CSFL South division.
 
Passing Game
Senior quarterback Andrew Paolini will play his final game at Franklin Field Friday night after an impressive offensive season that currently has him second in the CSFL with 1,363 passing yeads and eight touchdowns, which are also good for second. Paolini has 2,721 career passing yards, which is currently good for fourth all-time in program history.
 
Defensive Stars
Two constants on Penn's defense this season have been the duo of Charles Tauckus and Jake Inserra. Tauckus is tied for second in the CSFL with 47 total tackles, while Inserra is fourth with 46. Cam Janock is 12th with 34 tackles this year.
 
Rookie Sensation
Freshman wide receiver Brandon Graves has been fantastic this season for the Quakers, leading the CSFL with 498 yards receiving on just 25 catches with four touchdowns. Sophomore Jake Wang has 448 yards with a pair of scores on a league-best 36 catches.
 
Scouting the Mounties
Mansfield is 4-2 this year with a 2-2 record in CSFL North play, coming off a tough 54-6 defeat to Army last Friday night. The Mountaineers were previously on a four-game win streak in which they outscored teams, 173-39 during that stretch. Mansfield beat Saint Thomas Aquinas, 55-5, on October 8. The Quakers fell to the Spartans earlier this season. Cahsid Raymond leads the team with 60 passes for 788 yards and six touchdowns while also gaining 718 yards on the ground with six scores. On defense, Matt Robert has a team-high 52 total tackles with 2.5 sacks.
 
All-Time Series
Penn is a perfect 13-0 against Mansfield all-time and will look for a 14th straight victory Friday night. The Quakers beat the Mounties, 55-28, last season on the road. Paolini threw for four touchdowns with 270 yards through the air.
 
Senior Festivities
Penn will honor seniors Davis Buchanan, Stuart Harris, Travis Legum, Adedotun Bello, Andrew Paolini, Lewis Evans, Caleb Pierce, Cullen Breen and Preston Brailer with a pre-game ceremony.
