The Brown Series
It's been mostly Penn's series over the years, especially in the last 10 where the Quakers have claimed seven of those matchups. Penn leads the all-time series 63-24-2, but the series record in Providence is much closer with a 19-15-1 record for the Quakers. Penn has a six-game win streak over Brown, the program's longest current active win streak over an opponent. In fact, head coach Ray Priore has never lost to the Bears, going 5-0 in his University City tenure.

Looking For Consistency
Consistency isn't a word you'd use for Brown's 2022 season, because it's been nothing close to that. The Bears have lost four of their last five games and have only beaten Central Connecticut State (10/8) since a thrilling season-opening victory over Bryant on Sept. 17. Since then, Brown is 0-3 against Ivy opponents, tied at the bottom with Columbia. Losing back-to-back games to Cornell and Princeton, it will face another steep challenge in Penn on Saturday.

6-0!
It's the homestretch for Penn, which are unbeaten through six games with four remaining in 2022. The Quakers are 6-0 for the first time since 2003, when they went a perfect 10-0 and earned the program's 13th Ivy League title. Penn, which swept the non-league portion of the schedule for the first time since 2018, topped Yale last weekend to start Ivy play 3-0 for the first time since 2016, the last of the Quakers' 18 Ivy titles. Penn hasn't started a season 4-0 since the same slate. Penn and Princeton remain only two Ivy League teams with an unblemished record through the first six games and just two of five remaining perfect teams in FCS football. Of those five teams, Penn is the only one to not be a defending conference champion.

Having A Case of FOMO
Penn enters its seventh week of football action as the only unbeaten team in the nation (FCS) not to be ranked in the AFCA Coaches Poll. However, for the fourth straight week, the Quakers are receiving votes in the Coaches Poll ranking, checking in with 18 points, just one place shy of the Top 25. Penn is also the last team receiving votes in the FCS STATS Media Poll with seven points.

Defensive Player of the Week
Defensive lineman Joey Slackman cemented himself as the Quakers' third different Ivy Defensive Player of the Week award winner, the team's fourth honor of the season. He totaled seven tackles, 1.5 sacks and had the pass breakup at the end of the first half that led to Jake Heimlicher's momentum-shifting interception as Penn tied the game at 10-10 heading into the locker room for halftime.

Another Top Target
Each week, it seems like sophomore quarterback Aidan Sayin has another favorite receiver to target and last weekend vs. Yale, it was Rory Starkey, Jr. The senior reeled in a career-high nine catches for 89 yards and the game-tying touchdown late in the first half. Starkey, Jr. has 27 catches this season, good for second on the team behind Joshua Casilli (36). But he leads the team in TD catches with three.

Say(in) What?!
Sayin had himself another turnover-free Saturday afternoon against Yale, nearly topping the 300-yard passing mark for the first time this season with 28 completions for 298 yards and a touchdown. In six games this year, Sayin leads the Ivy League with 12 touchdown passes, throwing for more than 1,500 yards and completing 64.6 percent of his passing attempts.

What Can Brown Do For You?
Penn has found great success over Brown year in and year out, especially when it matters most. In fact, the Quakers are 16-1-1 over the Bears in Ivy League Championship seasons. Penn has won eight Ivy titles in a row dating back to 2000 when defeating Brown during the campaign.

Seven, It's A Magic Number
With its victory over Yale Saturday, Penn has clinched a winning season for the first time since 2018. The Quakers have won at least seven games three times since 2010 and in all three instances, Penn won the Ivy title. A win over Brown Saturday would solidify Priore's first seven-win season as head coach since 2015-16.

National Prominence
Penn has its name littered across national statistical leaderboards this season in a variety of categories. The Quakers are currently slotted in the Top 5 in six major stat categories, especially on the defensive end. Penn ranks second in fourth down conversion percentage defense (14.3), second in first downs defense (85), tied for first in fewest fumbles lost (0), second in red zone defense (57.1 percent), fourth in scoring defense (14.3 ppg) and third in sacks per game (3.67).

In addition, Penn has risen to the Top 10 of several categories as well, ranking sixth in red zone offense (92.6 percent), sixth in rushing defense (81.7 ypg), eighth in team passing efficiency (132.96), eighth in total defense (281.5 ypg) and ninth in punt return defense (1.62).

Last Time Out
The Quakers' last matchup with the Bears went swimmingly in 2021, a 45-17 victory at Franklin Field. Penn led, 31-10 at halftime before scoring twice in the second half en route to the dominant win. Isaiah Malcome rushed nine times for 121 yards and a TD while Sayin completed 11 passes for 97 yards and two scores. Garrett Morris also had himself a pick six with a 42-yd interception return for a touchdown. Penn tallied 411 yards of total offense with 337 yards through the air.
