How It Happened
Penn commanded the game from the first whistle to the final horn and didn't hesitate to prove that to the Sharks after finding the back of the cage in the first four minutes.
Â
Kenah,, roughly 20 yards outside of the circle, sent a pass through traffic to Loozen in the middle of the circle. Loozen made a swift turn and fired a shot past the keeper for her first goal of her young Penn career.
Â
Although the Quakers had five total shots in the first half, the score held at 1-0 at the break. However, they came out firing in the third quarter, adding eight more shots with another slipping past the LIU keeper for the second and final goal of the game.
Â
A hard pass was sent up the field where Loozen redirected it into the circle. The redirection attempt found the stick of Ward, who quickly sent a shot into the cage for her third of the season.
Â
The Penn defense continued to hold strong in the backfield, only allowing one shot by the Sharks the entire second half, and one penalty corner the whole game.
