STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The University of Pennsylvania track and field programs had a successful trip to the Ocean Breeze Complex on Saturday for the Villanova Invitational, posting seven first-place finishes to go along with nine new additions to the program record book.

On the women's side,
Katherine Muccio and
Maeve Stiles each claimed a victory. Muccio posted a time of 7.69 in the 60m for first place. That was just a part of her success for the day, as she earned fourth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.80, a mark good enough for ninth in program history.

Stiles collected her first-place finish in the 3,000m, crossing the finish line at 9:34.78 for the seventh best time in program history.

Caia Gelli had a pair of second place finishes in her sprint events as well, clocking a time of 1:15.74 in the 500m before taking second in the 200m with a 24.50, a time that sits sixth in program history.

For the men, top finishes came in two distance events, a sprint, and two jumping events.
William Hare, who already ranks in the top 10 in program history in the 3,000m, grabbed first on Saturday with a time of 8:08.25. Coming in close behind him at second place was
Michael Keehan with a time of 8:10 flat to put him at eighth in program history.

The other distance event was the 1,000m where three Quakers placed themselves in the record books.
Ray Sellaro won the event with a time of 2:23.57 to shift himself into third in program history. Coming in at third in the race was
Justin Cornetta, crossing at 2:24.49 for fifth in school history, while
James Lee followed in fourth at 2:24.54 for sixth in program history.

Robbie Ruppel led a pack of three Quakers in the top three spots of the 500m. Ruppel took home the victory with a time of 1:04.75, while
Titus Bretzke (1:05.09) and
Antaures Jackson (1:05.13) came through in the next two spots.

The rest of the top finishes came in the pole vault and high jump. At the vault,
James Rhoads placed himself at 10th in program history with a top clearance of 5.05m. He was followed in second by Benedikt Sachta, who cleared 4.85m. At the high jump,
Michael Hermes earned first place with a height of 2.00m, while
Mark Anselmi cracked the top three with a clearance of 1.95m.

Dimitri Nicholson had a great day in the 60m as well, making two moves in the history book. Already sitting eight in the record book with his time of 6.94 in the first meet of the season, Nicholson topped it in the 60m preliminaries on Saturday with a time of 6.91 to move into sixth. In the 60m finals, he erased the mark again, taking third place with a time of 6.86 to land fourth in program history.

The Quakers added two other top two times for the day, as
Anton Idhammar earned second in the mile with a time of 4:11.06. The 4x400 relay wrapped up the day with Ruppel, Emmerson Douds, Bretzke, and
Adam Gorka teaming up for second with a time of 3:17.80.

Penn returns to action next Saturday, traveling to the Sykes Sabock Challenge hosted by Penn State in Happy Valley.
