TEAMS SLATED TO COMPETE
The event will play host to some elite Division I programs on Saturday. Joining Penn are Brown, Cornell, FDU, La Salle, Stony Brook, Villanova, and Wagner. It's the fifth year the Quakers have hosted the event on Staten Island at the Ocean Breeze Complex.
Â
FAMILIARITY WITH THE VENUE
The Quakers are very familiar with Ocean Breeze, holding the Penn Select there during the indoor season the last several seasons. This will be the second of three times Penn will be at Ocean Breeze this season, heading back next weekend for the Villanova Invitational. The first time was back on December 10, opening the indoor season at the Seahawk Shootout hosted by Wagner.
Â
LAST TIME OUT
At the Seahawk Shootout, the Quakers collected 14 top finishes as well as a handful of events where Penn took the top three spots. Five Quakers had great outings in their respective events to place themselves in the top 10 in program history.
Â
On the men's side,Â
Dimitri Nicholson finished second in the 60m with a time of 6.94 for the eighth-best time in program history. In field events,Â
James Rhoads earned first place in the pole vault with a clearance of 5.15m, the seventh highest mark in program history. At the shot put,Â
Cameron Landis tossed the winning throw of 16.96m, a mark that is fifth best in program history although he already sits second with a throw of 17.54 back in 2019.
Â
For the women, top 10 marks were hit in field events. At the pole vault,Â
Abby Norwillo andÂ
Meghan Hart tied for first place, clearing 3.80m to land at 7th best in program history. Norwillo already sits third in program history, clearing 3.91m in 2019.Â
Tamara Grahovac placed herself at 10th in program history in the triple jump, landing at 11.76m.
