For the second season in a row under head coach Ray Priore, the Penn Quakers are playing the Dartmouth Big Green on national television. The two teams are playing for the 88th time and Dartmouth has had the edge of late, winning each of the last three meetings. Dating back to 2016, this game marks the fourth contest between Penn and Dartmouth that will be played on national television with the Big Green winning two of the three meetings. Friday's game will air nationally on ESPNU.
The Penn-Dartmouth Series (88th meeting)
Friday's game under the lights between the Quakers and the Big Green will mark the 88th meeting between the two teams. Penn and Dartmouth first met back in October of 1896. Dartmouth has won three straight in the series, but the two Ancient Eight foes have split the last 10 meetings.
Looking Back on the 2019 Meeting
In a nationally-televised contest on ESPNU, Dartmouth scored a 28-15 victory against Penn at Franklin Field. The Big Green built a 14-0 first-quarter lead courtesy of a TD pass and a fumble recovery returned for a score. Dartmouth took a 21-7 lead into the half and built a 28-7 advantage late in the fourth quarter. Both of Penn's touchdowns in the game came on runs from KK Brooks.
Rory Starkey, Jr. had 41 receiving yards for Penn and
Brian O'Neill had seven tackles including four solo stops.
Season-Opening Success
Penn topped Bucknell, 30-6, in Lewisburg in the season opener for the Quakers. Under George A. Munger Head Coach of Football
Ray Priore, Penn has won three of its last four season openers.
A Look at Dartmouth
Dartmouth is 2-0 entering Friday night's contest after racing past Sacred Heart, 41-3, last Saturday in Hanover. The Big Green ran for 286 yards in the victory over the Pioneers and the team is averaging 200 yards per game on the ground. Nick Howard and Zack Bair are both averaging more than 97 yards per game and a touchdown for Dartmouth. Fifth-year QB Derek Kyler has passed for 283 yards and five TDs through two games. Defensively, senior LB Jalen Mackie has a team-high 21 tackles and one INT. Mackie was named the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week after Dartmouth's win over Valparaiso.

Prince Emili have wreaked havoc up front through the first two games of the season for the Quakers. Emili has recorded 3.0 sacks and racked up four TFLs. Heimlicher had a sack in both games for the Quakers in 2021. Junior

Rory Starkey, Jr. and
Ryan Cragun had big games at Bucknell in the season opener. Starkey caught two passes for 113 yards, highlighted by a 70-yard TD grab, while Cragun hauled in six passes for 110 yards and a 44-yard TD reception. It was the first time since November 11, 2016, that two Quaker wideouts had over 100 yards receiving in a game. In that contest, Justin Watson had 10 catches for 120 yards and a TD, while Christian Pearson caught 7 for 101 and a TD in a 27-14 victory over #22 Harvard.

Senior WR Rory Starkey had seven grabs for 121 yards and a TD at Lafayette. Dating back to 2019, he has scored a touchdown in
SEVEN straight games. He currently ranks seventh in the country in yards per catch (26.0). He is currently tied for 13th in program history with nine career receiving TDs.
Welcome To The Club

Ryan Cragun became the 21st player in program history to reach 1,000 career receiving yards on September 25 at Lafayette. In the game, he hauled in eight passes for 96 yards. It took Cragun just 11 career games to reach the milestone.

Trey Flowers has scored rushing TDs in each of Penn's first two games. Entering the season, he had just one career rushing touchdown.

Jason McCleod, Jr. had a strong season-opening game at Bucknell. He notched his first career interception on the first drive of the second half for the Bison and he also had four pass breakups. As a team, Penn ranks in the top-10 in the country in passing yards allowed per game (3rd-132), first downs allowed (2nd-26), red-zone defense (4th-.400), passing efficiency defense (6th-96.5) and total defense (9th-260 yards per game). The Quakers are also 11th all of the FCS in scoring defense, surrendering 15 points per game.

Senior kicker
Daniel Karrash had a strong start to the 2021 season at Bucknell. Karrash was 3-of-3 on FGs and 3-of-3 on PATs. He connected on kicks of 20, 24 and 32-yards. Karrash accounted for a career-high 12 points in the 30-6 win over Bucknell.
