Teuschl Named Ivy League Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA – The Ivy League has announced its weekly award winners for women's soccer, and University of Pennsylvania sophomore midfielder Lauren Teuschl was named the Ivy League Player of the Week. In addition, the sophomore midfielder was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week on Tuesday.

The sophomore earned the honor after netting a goal and an assist in Penn's 2-0 win on Thursday over Villanova, then followed up with a beautiful assist on Jackie Bruder's overtime match-winner as the Quakers knocked off Rice on Sunday, 2-1. The victories—against a pair of teams that entered the weekend a combined 13-2-1—allowed Penn to keep its perfect 2021 Rhodes Field record intact at 5-0-0. Overall, the Quakers are 5-1-2 on the season.

Teuschl, who has a three-match point streak and has recorded a point in six of Penn's eight matches this season, currently leads the Quakers in assists (5) and points (11).

Penn will open Ivy League play this weekend, traveling to Harvard to take on the Crimson Saturday at 1 p.m.
