Familiar Face, New Role
With the cancellation of the 2020 season, Head Coach Jerry McConnell will have his first game at the helm of the program on Friday evening at Army. McConnell has spent the previous 12 seasons on the staff serving as the offensive coordinator. Over his 12 years as a member of the coaching staff, the Quakers have had 112 offensive players receive All-CSFL selections with 40 of those players receiving first-team honors. Over McConnell's 12 years, Penn led the CSFL in total offense four times (2009, '13, '17, '19).

We're Back!
Friday night's game at Army will be the first for the Quakers in 685 days!

Slinging It
Junior Andrew Paolini will be the starting QB for the Quakers. He appeared in four games as a freshman.

Spark Plug
Senior RB Laquan McKever is back for the Red and Blue. As a sophomore, he earned first team All-CSFL honors after rushing for a team-leading 766 yards. He was named the CSFL Player of the Week on October 8, 2019, after running for a career-high 238 yards and two TDs against Chestnut Hill.

Pass Catchers
Penn returns its top-two receivers from 2019 in Brendan McCaffrey and Ben Klaus. McCaffrey earned second team All-CSFL distinction after catching 26 passes for 443 yards and three TDs, while Klaus garnered Honorable Mention All-CSFL accolades after recording 296 receiving yards and a team-high four TD grabs.

Back On D
LB Lewis Evans leads a strong core of returners on the defensive side of the ball. Evans earned Honorable Mention All-CSFL honors in 2019 after finishing the season with a team-high 54 tackles, including one sack and one forced fumble.

Our Favorite Tradition
We started our year with the annual Alumni Game on Saturday, September 11. It is always great to engage our alumni and see them suiting up once again. McKever ran for 144 yards and one touchdown on 24 carries, while junior QB Andrew Paolini passed for 150 yards and accounted for two TDs (one through the air and one on the ground). Defensively, Evans had six tackles on the day and he also intercepted a pass in the third quarter. Junior DB Davis Buchanan also picked off a pass, while senior Sam Mintz had a pick-six late in the second quarter.
