The Series with Mount St. Mary's
The Quakers will be meeting the Mountaineers for first time in program history on Friday night.

About Mount St. Mary's
The Mountaineers enter Friday's matchup looking to snap a four-game losing streak, sitting at 1-4 for the season. They opened the 2021 campaign with a 2-1 overtime victory at home against Saint Peter's back in August, putting away the deciding goal in the 94th minute off the foot of Jesus Salazar.

The Series with Rutgers
Penn holds a slight advantage over the all-time series with the Scarlet Knights, 8-7-1. The last time the two teams met in 2019 was on Rhodes Field, battling to a 1-1 draw. Rutgers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the ninth minute, but a late-game setup between Brandon Bartel and Alex Touche evened the score in the 70th minute. Through the two overtimes, Penn outshot the Knights, 2-1, but the back of the nets saw no action.

About Rutgers
The Knights are off to a strong start to their 2021 slate, maintaining a 5-0-1 tally ahead of their matchup Friday night at No. 11 Indiana. Three of their victories have come at one-goal decisions, including wins against Princeton (1-0), Lehigh (3-2) and Saints Joseph's (2-1). Their only draw has come at the hands of Temple, going scoreless through 110 minutes.

Quaker Notemeal
*Penn enters the weekend with a 2-1-1 record for the season with victories over Fairleigh Dickinson and Colgate.

*On Monday, the Quakers traded goals with Loyola (Md.) for a 2-2 draw through 110 minutes, seeing Joey Bhangdia put away his third goal of the season and Charlie Gaffney score the first of his collegiate career.

*Through the first four matches of the season, the Quakers sit third in the Ivy League in goals scored with nine, only behind Cornell (11) and Brown (10).

*Matt Leigh currently is second on the Ivy League leaderboard for points with seven and first in assists with three. Bhangdia and Stitz rank second in their respective categories, as Bhangdia sits second in goals with three and Stitz in assists with two.

*Between the pipes, the time has been split between Dane Jacomen and Nick Christoffersen, totaling 12 saves. Christoffersen earned the lone clean sheet of the season so far in the 3-0 victory over Colgate, as the Penn backline helped the net minder with only seeing one shot through the full 90 minutes.
