PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania's Director of Squash and head women's squash coach,
Jack Wyant, has announced his team's 2021-22 schedule
Penn played in the Howe Cup's national championship field in 2019-20, and the Quakers return four of their top six players from the ladder at that event in
Jamila Abou El Enin,
Ashley Manning,
Amina Abou El Enin, and
Navmi Sharma
"We are very excited to welcome five freshmen and five sophomores to college squash this season," said Wyant, who has been the women's coach at Penn since the 2004-05 season. "We have no seniors so it will be a young lineup, but we have exciting new and returning players and we think the program has a bright future that starts with the upcoming season."
Following the Ivy Scrimmages at Yale on November 6 and 7, Penn hosts Drexel, Dickinson, Franklin & Marshall and Chatham at the Pennsylvania State Championships on November 13 and 14. The Quakers remain home the next weekend, as well, hosting Virginia (Nov. 19), Williams (Nov. 20) and Bates (Nov. 21) to close out the fall portion of the season.
Penn rings in the new year by hosting Tufts (Jan. 12), before opening Ivy League play at home with 2020 CSA champion Harvard (Saturday, Jan. 15) and Dartmouth (Sunday, Jan. 16). The Quakers conclude their non-conference schedule the next weekend with a trip to Connecticut and a meeting with Trinity (Saturday, Jan. 22), then they stay in the Nutmeg State for an Ivy matchup with Yale (Sunday, Jan. 23).
Penn has two more Ivy League matches the following weekend, traveling to Columbia (Friday, Jan. 28) and hosting Cornell (Sunday, Jan. 30), before the Quakers wrap up the regular season by making the short trip North and a meeting with rival Princeton, the 2020 CSA runner-up (Saturday, Feb. 5).
The CSA Women's Team Championships will run from Friday, Feb. 25 through Sunday, March 27 at Harvard. The CSA Individual Championships will take place March 4-6 just up the street from Penn, at the new Arlen Specter Squash Center on Drexel's campus.
