Biography
2021-22: Team captain … One of four team members to compete in 16 matches during the season … Finished team competition with a 7-9 record, including a 3-0 record at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots in the lineup … Helped Penn knock off top 10 Stanford with 3-0 win over Anna O’Connor (11/20) … Rallied from 0-1 deficit for Ivy League win over Dartmouth’s Emily Schuster (1/16) … Picked up another Ivy League win in 3-0 fashion over Cornell’s Lily Zelov, helping move Penn into the CSA Top 8 (2/6).
2020-21: All 2020-21 Ivy League winter sports were canceled on November 12 due to a nationwide outbreak of coronavirus COVID-19.
2019-20: Named Penn Squash Most Improved Player ... Appeared in all 16 varsity matches as a freshman, going 13-3 overall … Helped Penn earn a Howe Cup appearance … Began the season at the No. 9 spot in the lineup, but rose up the ladder, playing at No. 8, No. 7 and No. 6 before ending the final seven matches at No. 5 … Won six matches by a 3-0 score … Won the first 10 matches of her collegiate career … Went 3-2 against opponents from the top four teams in the nation (Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Trinity) … Earned first career collegiate win with a 3-0 decision against Dickinson (11/16) … Earned the Quakers’ only point against Harvard and picked up her first Ivy League win against Grace Steelman (1/11) … Earned first Howe Cup victory of her collegiate career with a win over Columbia’s Ellie McVeigh (2/22).
High School: Ranked second in her CISA league in 2019, top 4 in 2018 and top 4 in junior varsity.
Personal: Daughter of Rania and Tamer Abou El Enin ... Sister, Jamila '22, also plays squash at Penn ... Enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
