Eleven Named Academic All-Ivy for Winter 2020-21

PHILADELPHIA – The Ivy League has announced its Academic All-Ivy selections for the 2020-21 winter season. In order to be eligible for Academic All-Ivy, a student-athlete must be in at least his/her second year at Penn and be in good academic standing at the University.
 
This year, for the first time, the winter Academic All-Ivy honor is being given to student-athletes who play a sport in which the Ivy League determines a champion during the winter season. This also was the case for fall programs in the fall. In the spring, the Ivy League will announce Academic All-Ivy for spring sports programs as well as any sports that are not officially sponsored by the Ivy League. (At Penn, those sports are sprint football and women's gymnastics.)
 
Penn is represented this winter by the following athletes:
 
Neil Antrassian (Jr., Temperance, Mich.) Wrestling for the Quakers at 174 pounds, he placed seventh at the 2020 EIWA Championships ... Ranked third on the team with two tech falls and fourth with 51 takedowns in 2019-20 ... Went 4-1 in Ivy League duals in 2019-20 ... Secured a crucial tech fall in Penn's 22-19 dual win against Harvard during the 2019-20 season … A systems science & engineering major in the School of Engineering and Applied Science.
 
Chloe Daniel (So., Sierra Madre, Calif.) The women's fencer was the epee individual champion at 2019-20 Ivy League Championships, Penn's first since Alejandra Trumble in 2016 ... First-team All-Ivy, just the 10th epee fencer in program history so honored ... Went 18-5 against Ivy League opponents as a freshman, 56-22 overall … A health & societies major in the College of Arts and Sciences.
 
Emon Daroian (Jr., Encino, Calif.) First-team All-America and second-team All-Region as a men's fencer in 2019-20 ... NCAA Championships qualifier in 2019-20 … Two-time first-team All-Ivy … First back-to-back first-team All-Ivy recipient in men's epee since Chris O'Loughlin in 1986 and 1987 ... As a freshman in 2018-19, tied for second in epee at the Ivy League Championship ... As a freshman, led classmates with 45 wins and led Quakers overall with a .682 win percentage … A health & societies major in the College of Arts and Sciences.
 
James Flynn (Jr., Toronto, Ontario) First-Team CSA All-America for the men's squash team as a sophomore in 2019-20 … Competed in 15 of 17 varsity matches, going 14-3 overall (13-2 in team play, 1-1 at Individuals) ... Helped Penn to its first Potter Cup final and second-place finish … Went 5-1 against Ivy League opponents … Spent nearly the entire season at the #3 spot in the lineup, playing one match at #2 ... As a freshman in 2018-19, helped Penn to its first-ever No. 1 CSA ranking and a third-place finish in the Potter Cup (best in program history until 2019-20) … A finance and business analytics major in the Wharton School of Business.
 
Sean Lee (Sr., Los Angeles, Calif.) Member of Penn's winning 400 free relay team at the 2019 Ivy League Men's Swimming & Diving Championships, Penn's first ever win in the event ... Second-team All-Ivy in the 200 medley relay, 400 medley relay … 2020 Ivy League Championships qualifier in the 100 fly, 200 fly, 200 IM, 200 free relay, and 400 free relay; fnished fourth in the 200 fly (1:43.81), fifth in the 100 fly (46.60), and fifth in the 200 IM (1:45.38) … 2019 Ivy League Championships qualifier in the 100 fly, 200 fly, 200 IM, 200 medley relay, 200 free relay, 400 medley relay, and 400 free relay; fourth in 200 fly … A political science major in the College of Arts and Sciences.
 
Mayyi Mahama (Jr., Pullman, Wash.) 2020 Indoor NCAA qualifier and Indoor Ivy Heps champion in the weight throw with the women's track & field team ... Holds Penn records in the indoor weight throw and the outdoor hammer toss ... Second-team All-Ivy in weight throw at 2019 Indoor Ivy Heps ... U20 Pan Am Games runner-up and USATF U20 champion in the hammer throw in the summer of 2019 ... 2019 honorable mention All-America and NCAA Championships qualifier in the outdoor hammer throw ... Member of three Ivy Heps team champions (two indoor, one outdoor) … A fine arts major in the College of Arts and Sciences.
 
Ashley Manning (So., Rye, N.Y.) Appeared in all 16 varsity matches for the women's squash team as a freshman in 2019-20, going 11-8 overall (9-7 in team play, 2-1 in individual play) … Helped Penn earn a Howe Cup appearance … Spent nearly the entire season playing the No. 4 spot in the lineup, with one appearance at No. 3 … Went 5-2 against Ivy League opponents … A communication major in the College of Arts and Sciences.
 
Marvin Morgan (Sr., Neptune, N.J.) Finalist in two events at 2020 Indoor Ivy Heps for men's track & field, taking fourth in the 200 and eighth in the 60-meter dash ... Captured Penn's first 60m dash title since 2000 at the 2019 Indoor Ivy Heps and took fourth in the 200 ... Scored twice at 2018 Indoor Ivy Heps, second in the 60m dash and fifth in the 200 ... 2019 NCAA Outdoor qualifier (100) ... 2019 Outdoor Heps champion (100m dash) … A physics major in the College of Arts and Sciences.
 
Anderson Myers (Sr., Orlando, Fla.) 2020 Ivy League Women's Swimming & Diving Championships qualifier in 50 free, 100 fly, 200 fly, and 200 medley relay … Set 200 fly program record at Championships … Made A final in 100 and 200 fly ... 2019 Ivy League Championships qualifier in the 50 free, 100 fly, 200 fly, 400 medley relay, 200 free relay, 400 free relay … Honorable mention CSCAA Scholar All-America in 2018-19 … An electrical engineering major in the School of Engineering and Applied Science.
