PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania football team will add 26 new members to the #UPrising this autumn as the Quakers return to the gridiron in 2021.

"We are very excited to add this talented group to our Penn Football Family," said George A. Munger Head Coach of Football Ray Priore. "This year presented many challenges for players and coaches. I commend these young men and their families on how they handled lots of uncertainty and our coaches for adapting and adjusting their methods to scour the country. From top to bottom, this group of newcomers have G.R.I.T. and the toughness to compete, on the field and in the classroom, at a championship level. They are great players and will be tremendous ambassadors for our University."

The 26 newest members of the program hail from 11 different states – led by California with eight new student-athletes. Florida and Pennsylvania are sending five and three players, respectively, to University City.

Fourteen of the newcomers play on the offensive side of the ball, highlighted by four players joining as tight ends and three as wide receivers. The defensive side of the ball will add 11 newcomers, with five players bolstering the defensive line and four additions to the secondary. One kicker will join the special teams unit.
